The Bigger Picture
Some stories deserve more than a passing glance.
There are people, animals, and causes out there fighting battles most of us never see.
Some need a second chance. Some just need somebody to believe in them. And some need a little help getting their feet underneath them.
The Bigger Picture is where I share the stories and projects that have found their way into my heart, and maybe yours, too.
Because sometimes making a difference starts with simply giving a damn.
Dalton
The worth of a Second Chance

Some horses come into your life with ribbons, pedigrees, and a whole lot of promise. Others show up at the end of a driveway with their ribs showing, their bodies worn down, and the softest damn eyes you've ever seen.
Dalton was the latter.
Once a racehorse known as Cupid Blue Together, Dalton had a career, a purpose, and a name on paper. Somewhere along the way, life wasn't particularly kind to him. By the time he found his way to Dale Rosa Equine, he was thin, sore, and carrying more baggage in his body than any horse should have to.
But underneath all of that was a remarkably gentle soul who hadn't given up on people.
Today, Dalton is part of a hands-on rehabilitation project involving some pretty incredible young horsewomen. Together, we're working to rebuild his strength, restore his comfort, and figure out what the next chapter of his life might look like.
We're realistic about his physical limitations. His racing days are behind him, and his future may look a little different than we originally imagined. But different doesn't mean worthless.
Our hope is to find Dalton a loving, appropriate home where he can be appreciated for what he can do, rather than discarded for what he can't.
His story is still being written. And we're inviting people to be part of it.
Because sometimes the ones who have the least left to give end up teaching us the most.
The SHow Up Foundation
Horsemanship. Leadership. Opportunity.
Some kids grow up surrounded by opportunity. Others spend their childhood standing on the outside of the fence, wondering what it would be like to get through the gate.
And sometimes, all it takes to change the direction of a young person's life is one adult who gives a damn enough to show up.
That's where this whole idea began.
The Show Up Foundation is a developing youth initiative built around a simple belief: every young person deserves the opportunity to discover what they're capable of, regardless of where they come from, what they can afford, or what life has handed them.
Through horses, agriculture, hands-on education, and mentorship, our vision is to help young people build confidence, responsibility, leadership, and the kind of backbone that doesn't disappear when life gets uncomfortable.
This isn't about giving kids free pony rides or handing out participation ribbons. It's about teaching them to work, think, care, contribute, and eventually become the person who shows up for somebody else.
We're starting with a vision, years of experience, and a whole lot of determination to build something that matters.
And we hope to bring along individuals, businesses, mentors, and community partners who believe that investing in young people is one of the best investments we can make.
We open the gate. They learn to lead. Together, we show up.
